The globally anticipated annual event — the 22nd China International Chemical Industry Fair (ICIF China 2025) — was successfully held from September 17 to 19 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. Organized by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, and co-organized by the CCPIT Sub-Council of Chemical Industry and the China National Chemical Information Centre, the exhibition adopted the theme “Progress in Partnership, Embrace the Future” focusing on green and low-carbon development, high-end transformation, and intelligent upgrades. It comprehensively showcased China’s chemical innovation achievements and contributed to high-quality growth in the global petrochemical sector.
A Global Benchmark Driving Industrial Upgrading
As one of the most influential chemical industry events in the Asia-Pacific region, ICIF China has built a 34-year legacy as a vital platform for global trade cooperation, technical exchange, and trend analysis. Coinciding with the conclusion of China’s 14th Five-Year Plan and the upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan, the 2025 edition aligned closely with industry transformation, highlighting innovations in new energy materials, low-carbon technologies, intelligent equipment, and the low-altitude economy — offering new pathways and opportunities for industrial upgrading.
China Petroleum & Chemical Industry Week: An Integrated Value-Chain Gathering
ICIF China once again joined forces with RubberTech China and ASE China to present the China Petroleum & Chemical Industry Week. The integrated event spanned 150,000 square meters, occupying 12 halls (E6–E7, N1–N5, W1–W5) at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. Together, the three exhibitions fully covered the entire industrial chain — from energy and petrochemicals, basic chemicals, and fine chemicals to advanced chemical materials and end-use applications. The event attracted over 2,500 companies from home and abroad and drew more than 80,000 professional visitors, forming a truly global chemical industry ecosystem.
Gathering of Industry Leaders Showcasing Cutting-Edge Solutions
ICIF China 2025 brought together nearly 800 leading enterprises, including CNPC, Sinopec, CNOOC, Sinochem, Huayi Group, Yanchang Petroleum, Jincheng Petrochemical, Lu’an Group, Bohua Group, Juhua Group, Qingdao Bayport Group, Guizhou Phosphorus Chemical Group, Hengli Group, Wanda Petrochemical, Jingbo Petrochemical, Lubei Group, Hubei Yihua Group, CNOOC, and TotalEnergies Lubricants. Exhibits spanned nine major sectors: energy and petrochemicals, basic chemical raw materials, new chemical materials, fine chemicals, chemical safety and environmental protection, chemical packaging and storage/transport, chemical engineering and equipment, digital and smart manufacturing, as well as chemical reagents and lab equipment — offering a one-stop platform for sourcing, cooperation, and exchange.
High-Level Forums Shaping the Future of the Sector
The exhibition was complemented by the China Petroleum & Chemical Industry Forum and a series of specialized events, including the 8
th SmartChem Conference, the 2
nd China International Chemical Storage and Transportation Safety Conference, the 5
th Global Chemicals Trade Compliance Regulations and Response Strategies Symposium, and 2026-2030 China Petrochemical Industry Development Strategy Seminar. Special matchmaking sessions, such as the 2025 China-Japan Chemical Industry Business Matching Conference and the 2025 Petrochemical Industry Technology Information Exchange Conference, provided participants with policy insights, technical knowledge, and valuable business networking opportunities.
